Tutoring Business Marketing Strategies

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting a tutoring business for middle school, high school, and college prep tests. I would like any suggestions about methods of advertising that work best (where, how).

I would go with a two-pronged approach; one for the student and one for the parent.

A great website with good listing on google, yahoo etc.

Basic posting at the public library.

Direct mail or e-mail campaign to PTA organizations, (we have a large list for this if you need it) coaches (who want their students to stay eligible) and teachers.

I'd also go out of the mainstream and advertise in the EB Games, as an example, stores. Something along the lines of "Want to play more games but parents are harping on your grades?" would get a huge response.

    Hope this helps.

In the Washington DC area, you can post a free message at the Giant food stores for this sort of service... and if stores in your area have similar programs, this could be a part of your strategy.

If I were starting that sort of business, I would meet with a few high school guidance counsellors to get their feedback and advice.

Have you considered advertising in school publications (e.g. programs for plays, etc.?)
