What To Charge To Remove A Banner From Web Service

Posted by Levon on 250 Points
We are a company providing a free conferencing platform. I don't want to give too much away besides the fact that the service is free and will have light banner advertising on it.

If we gave the option of removing banners ads - much in the same way that an email provider gives this option (the option to remove banners for a clean interface and look). What would be a proper metrics or system for figuring out how to charge for such a service?

If there were 1000 users or even a million users how much would you charge to remove banner ads. Is there a formula for this? A scale?

For me, what it's worth is based on: 1) how annoying it is and 2) how I'll be using it.

If I'll be using it for non-professional reasons, then I don't care about the banners. If I'll be using it as a way of holding teleseminars or webinars, then I'd prefer that I could brand it with my logo (instead of a 3rd party ad).

The advertising banners will be really light in the top right hand corner of the platform. Yes some users will be using the platform for webinars...so I imagine it would be worth a lot to have the advertising removed.

How does one strategically price such an offering. Should it be 5, 10, 15 dollars a month?
