Newbie Asks How To Build Specific In-house List Inexpensively

Posted by Anonymous on 75 Points
Newbie Question: I need to build an in-house list that is very specifically targeted to certain key decision makers, certain industries and certain locations. As much as possible, it has to be complete, including phone #s, fax #s, email and postal mail. Can anyone suggest inexpensive and resourceful means to do this? Thank you very much.

If it's your industry, then your organsiation probably knows a large proportion of the prospects.

So ask your own company for all their contacts.

Then, write to them all - or phone - and get up to date information.

It's a starting point, and there's lots more you can do, but build from this firm foundation. If we were putting a consultancy spin on it, you'd call the Knowledge Management, and charge accordingly ;-)

I suggest the following. Simple, but effective:

    The PhoneBook

    The Internet

    Local Chamber of Commerce

The COM will most likey provide you with the most info in the shortest amount of time but requires a membership fee (usually around $300).

    Good Luck!!
