Pr Campaign For Buxton Water Plus A Sub Brand

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi,

I have a project on Buxton water for my degree. We need to come up with a 12 month PR campaign and wondered if anyone had any ideas. In particular weve been told to come up with a sub brand.. or new logo etc if anyone has any thoughts. Thinking around the idea of health - getting your daily in take of water and environmentally friendy -recyclable, eco friendly brand etc.

Also any ideas on pr tools..sponsorship, events anything a bit different in terms of PR for buxton.

All thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi, Sarah, Welcome to MarketingProfs. I think you'll find it a valuable resource as you complete your degree and then later as you become a marketing professional.

I'd just like to point out the "Important Guidelines" for the forum:

    https://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/guidelines.asp

    In particular, read #5:

Experts are happy to help students explore their thoughts, but they will not do their assignments for them. If you are a student, be sure to share your own ideas along with your question.

The best way to utilize this forum for you best is to put some original thought into an answer for a homework assignment and then bounce it off the professionals here. That way, you learn by applying your coursework - an important part of your education - and then you learn valuable real world lessons from the professionals. Otherwise, you don't learn a darn thing if you let the pros do the work. For instance, you would never know why we suggested the particular tools we suggested for PR. And then, if you had a test, that included the "why" part of the PR equation, you'd lose out. And when you start your career, you'd know the words but not the reasons behind them. Very limiting for your career.

Now, you did put some thought into your answer - a little, anyway. You mentioned something related to health. However, I'd encourage you to put considerable more more thought into it. Why health? Because it's all over the airwaves and everyone is doing it? Following everyone else isn't a particularly good strategy because you can never be a leader. How does it fit Buxton's present strategy? Consider these elements in your choice.

As far as PR tools - what are the choices? Why would you use one versus the other? WHich ones fit your case? Which ones does Buxton use today? Which ones don't they use? Why do you suppose that is? Why do you think that the PR tools have to be different for Buxton in this case? Do you think you'll get "more points" for some original tool than if you craft an intelligent campaign using tools they have a core competency using? Real life gives no points like this. It's all about effectively reaching your audience. And speaking of audience - who are you trying to reach with this new sub-brand and how can you reach them most effectively?

These are the things you need to consider. Give it some thought and if you have some ideas you'd like to bounce off us, write back!

    I hope this helps.

    Wayde
