How Do You Create An Html Email Document?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I was just hired at a small market research company and have been put in charge of revamping their emails to customers. I would like to create an HTML document, but how do I do that? Or better yet what program will be the most helpful. I already have made a copy of the exact email to be sent out in Adobe Illustrator I just need to know where to go from here.

My best advice (other than to engage with a firm like ours) is to go with a 3rd party ASP that specializes in the delivery and management of e-mail marketing. This way you can create everything online, in both HTML and plain text, you don't need to use multiple software apps (text, imaging, conversion etc.) and best of all you will be able to measure your opens, clickthroughs, bouncebacks (and why they did so), blocks and store your database on their secure server, access 24/7 anywhere etc.......

I would strongly recommend not doing it yourself on a homemade system (Adobe, Outlook, et al) because there is so much more to successful campaigns than putting something together with images and sending.

Who to use? Many 3rd party ASP's are available, I can't give recommendations (I'm sure somebody here will) simply because there are so many and it depends on budget, goals & objectives.

Almost all give a free trial of 30-60 days or X number of messages, so you can play around at no risk other than time.

    Hope that helps.

Well, If it is already you need to do one or more of the following:

    1. Export the image to a .gif or .jpeg format and open it up in an HTML editor such as FrontPage. Apply hyperlinks where necessary or use "hot spots" to make clickable areas of the page link to a URL. Then either save it on your hard drive or upload it to a server.

Go to www.download.com to get a free program called 'Group Mail Free". It allows you to send mass HTML emails at once from any source, whether it is stored on your hard drive or or on a server.

    2. Well, just send it to me and I'll do it for you!!! I have all the programs and can do it quicker than telling you how! Afterwards, I'll be glad to teach you how to do it yourself. Besure to include the URLs and instructions as to what links go where if any!
