Introductory Letter

Posted by jjames on 250 Points
I have recently been promoted to Commercial Loan Officer at a community bank in Williamsburg, VA. I am trying to grow my customer base by visiting members of our local Chamber of Commerce and was wondering if anyone had examples/samples of an introductory letter to pass along to small business owners with whom I visit.

Your best bet would be to send personalized letters that demonstrate that you know something about each business. "Generic" form-letters seem tacky when you are trying to communicate genuine interest.

If you don't think you can do that yourself, you might consider hiring someone to do the necessary research and compose the letters for you.

You'll quickly see how much more effective that personal approach can be.

Instead of leaving them with a letter, why not follow up with a no-obligation offer to visit them (or have them visit you) to simply learn more about their needs. From this "get-together", you can craft an appropriate follow-up message / conversation.
