'it' Lead Lists Companies

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi,

I need to buy some new lead lists for my company, but I am uncertain of which company to choose because none of them will let me sample their content and see how often the correct phone # given is directly to the IT employee stated, and is not disconnected. Does anyone have any experience choosing which company and if so, which has been the best? I Dont like Hoovers and D&B, too expensive.

InfoUSA does a good job on their lists in other areas, so I’m guessing they probably carry through to all industries. Very few companies are going to allow you to “try” a list, but they may be willing to give your money back if more than a predetermined percentage is bad. You may get good phone numbers but not the right person, it’s almost impossible to keep lists clean. Think about it, most companies don’t even keep their internal lists as current as the changes which occur each day.

Some of the best ways to reach people at a certain level within an organization is to become active in user groups or associations. Every industry has them, so you should be able to find some in yours.

Another group I’ve come across is sort of a lead sharing group named Jigsaw. They’ve got a pretty slick method of sharing leads and building lists. You can learn more about them at www.jigsaw.com.

    Good luck

I probably rely on Hoovers more than anything. However, if you really want to go low cost, the information is available in manufacturers directories at the library.

Have you tried CIO magazine? Not sure if they're selling their list or not.
