Quick Tips for Perfecting Your Instagram Strategy [Infographic]

Since Instagram was introduced in October 2010, users have shared more than 30 billion photos. So, what can you do to make your content stand out among the Instagram crowd?

Here are some tips from the following Salesforce infographic.

Post quality photos regularly. The key word is quality. "Followers may be less likely to interact if the photos aren't great quality," states Salesforce.

Types of photos include sneak previews of upcoming products or events, and employees. Also, "write clear and engaging descriptions that reflect and enforce your brand's message," suggests Salesforce.

Also, don't forget to engage with followers. Comment on relevant posts and repost user-generated content. "But don't overdo it," warns Salesforce. "Stick to significant posts, so you don't look like a robot."

    When posting on Instagram I agree the photo has to be of good quality, do not use an old phone camera. There are tons of photo enhancement apps out there (Vscocam being my first choice). You should use hashtags relating to your industry, try and find out your local business hashtag hours and join in.
    Make sure if you are posting a photo you post it at the right time - When are your target audience on Instagram? General users usually go on Instagram in the evening, make sure you don't post in the early hours of the morning. If your target is in a different timezone there are a few apps, such as Latergramme that will allow you to schedule your posts.
    Make sure you don't spam - A few relevent hashtags are okay, do not just use popular hashtags such as '#likeforlike', more people will see it, but will have no benefit for your business.
    Who to follow? An easy way to gain the right followers is to look at your competitors followers, see who is interested in your industry. Instagram has a follow limit of 80 per hour and may suspend accounts following hundreds at a time.
    Make sure you post regularly, people are unlikely to follow you if your last post was a long time ago, make sure you have an active account.
    And remember, like and comment on peoples photos on a regular basis!

    This is a great infographic illustrating how strong is instagram's business potential. Keeping users engaged pays off directly, thousands of entrepreneurs can confirm. But the app itself is only good for customers, for those who try to attract people it's not enough. It's almost impossible to build up a good follower base without apps for statistics and search, and then maintain it without service like fast-unfollow.com allowing to filter existing base. This is actually a very underrated domain, not many users understand the importance of possibility to unfollow like 5k people at once, but as a person who faced this necessity i can relate. Stay close to your customers and you'll reach the success.
