Research & Analysis: What Questions Should I Ask And How Should I Present My Research And Strategy To Upper Mgmt?

I am rehauling our brand - I'd like to reposition ourselves against our competition. We are in a comodity market-wire & cable. We have very many competitors - big companies - some of which are buying from china so their prices are lower. Our products are of higher quality and very much reasonablly priced...sometimes LOWER than our competitors for higher end products, and we have great customer service. I'm researching to find out what the company's visions are and I'm sure that will help once I get my answers.

I have created a questionaire for the CEO and President to answer.

But, In respect to getting information from other employees such as the National Sales Manager, his sales team members, as well as customer service, what are some good general questions to ask that will give me direct answers in helping me to develop the positioning/branding statement, and write our brand strategy.

Also, I'm a little stuck on how to organize and compile all the research results and how to organize the written strategy. There is so much to this, and as I mentioned, it's just me pretty much running the show here! I don't have a team.

Anyways, I did find a related post as to what sections should be expressed in a written strategy, but HOW should I present it, and exactly to whom?

My boss is the VP of sales. He requested I do this rebranding. I'm pretty much the marketing team, and do all the branding and marketing myself. So there isn't much support in respect to things, except from my boss and upper mgmt. I'm very excited about this opportunity, and know I can do this, even though it is all new to me!

Can anyone direct me to sample branding strategies as well as some sample branding questionaires? Are there documents available? If no, would someone be willing to help me out and share some things with me?

Also, what is the most professional/appropriate way to present my strategy to the team? Should I create a visual powerpoint presentation, have a meeting, and then pass out my written strategy? OR should I just not do a presentation, and just e-mail my strategy to upper mgmt? Any other suggestions of course, I am very open to.

Also, one last thing. I was given some advice -by my father actually - NOT to interview my boss-vp of sales/marketing because he isn't the owner of the company, he isn't the one who's created a "vision" but the one in charge of making sure I do my part in all this. Should i or should I not have him answer questions? I would think that he does have some sort of a vision!

Thanks for all your wonderful insights!
