Best Value Website Stats Packages Or Services?Premium Member

I've been using DeepMetrix and find it easy to use and comprehensive enough without producing overly complex reports.

Went to deploy it on a new website and discovered the DeepMetrix business has been gobbled up by Microsoft who have taken the products out of circulation, at least for the moment! Local Microsoft office has no idea what's happening with it and when it might re-emerge.

Can anyone recommend a comparable web stats package that deploys easily, is reasonably comprehensive, and produces concise reports?

Thanks

Chris Blackman

You have several options like WebTrends, Omniture, Coremetrics, Visual Sciences, Sane Solutions, WebSideStory. Sane Solutions’ NetTracker offers some high-end features at mid-market prices as well as licensed or hosted deployment.

According to Forrester, WebSideStory has a strategic jump on the market with the build out of its Active Marketing Suite that targets the complete needs of an online marketer.

We've used AWStats for several years for our clients sites and found it very easy to work with and reasonable.

I have used WebSideStory noted above, also don't overlook the Google Analytics option. It takes time on the waiting list to get implemented, but it is no cost with a minimum $5.00 per month Adwords campaign, I find Google Analytics fairly comprehensive for my needs (also very easy to set up).

Hi Chris,

Are you using Go Daddy for server space?

If so, you can't beat their "Traffic Facts" for $2.95 a month.

https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosting/stats_Landing.asp?se=%2B&ci=261

Check it out, I think it meets your criteria.

If you aren't using them for server space, check that out too, that you can't beat.

Google Analytics is pretty powerful and free. ClickTracks is also very good.

AWStats (it's free, easy to install, configurable for your needs, and delivering the type of reports you want) although depends on what kind of OS you use. Others include Webtrends and WebAnalyzer. Also, bbclone http://bbclone.de/

IndexTools, ClickTracks (pricey). ClickTracks has log file analyzer (programs) and hosted versions. IndexTools is only hosted.

Ecommstats

Good luck!

I've using webtrends for years. seems fine to me.

if you need to know more about your competitors' websites, then hotwise is a very good choice.

Good luck man,
Jim

Chris,
as I am not familiar with DeepMatrix, I can't say that these are comparable, but I can tell you I wouldn't recommend GoDaddy's Traffic Facts. I just don't feel like it provides enough info., timely enough for my taste. Not as user friendly as WebTrends.

WebTrends is pretty decent. Though I recently got on Google Analytics, and I think that will be my tool of choice. It is very inexpensive and very detailed.

Google Analytics is very good, if you can wait to get in.

CNstats is a great stat tool, only 200 bucks to buy.

Mint Stats kicks, and only 30 bucks. (www.haveamint.com)

Between all three, I get all the information I need.

I have used ClickTracks for a number of years, and currently they even have a free product called Appetizer. Another interesting new comer is Visistat which is offered as an ASP model with very reasonable monthly rates.

Both offer free trial periods for evaluation and both can be used simultaneously without so you can evaluate in the same period.

Best,
Steve G

Thanks to everyone for their contributions.

We set up on the trial version of Web-stat which seems pretty good. We also registered on 21 June for Google Analytics and the invitation code just came through this morning 28 June, so we might trial both at once (the coding guys will kill me!)

I prefer statcounter. It is real time and provides useful information about your visits.
Another good option with excellent reporting tools is google analytics.
