William, click on the Search Questions link on the right side of this page, then try using the keyword "investor." You can read the half-dozen questions and answers on KHE similar to yours.

I'm an entrepreneur myself, and I had a discussion about three months ago with an investor who had just spent some time studying the gaming market. (We don't do games, but our product works on cell phones, which is a hot delivery mechanism of gaming, I hear.) His inclination was to run far, far away from your industry, which is full of one-hit successes and 95% failures.

Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck! It takes guts to be in your shoes.

    William,

Regardless of whom you approach for funding (brokerage house, VC, or angel investor), take care to do it through a personal introduction. If you "broadcast" your opportunity too widely, you become less attractive.

Have your Exec Summary ready on request, but be very selective about who receives your business plan.

I will mention you to one person I know, but please don't get too excited about referrals through this forum.

Keep coming back to this "Know-How Exchange" on MarketingProfs to help you think of ways to grow!
