Queries Regarding Positioning Strategies

Thanks to everybody for sending in their replies to my earlier question on positioning strategies.

After going through the replies, I now have a clear concept of what positioning strategy is.

Can anybody please specify the different types of strategies that are employed by B2B marketeers. (it would be helpful if you could illustrate each strategy by taking relevant examples.)

    This question is in the student section... are you a student asking us to do your research for you?

    If I were interested in researching this topic, I would do a Google search on "positioning strategy", and get a couple hits... then I would do Google searches on some of the strategies I found... and I would quickly have more data than anyone would need. But I'm not going to do your homework for you.

    This is a very broad question. The marketing strategies for a company selling Enterprise Software (like SAP), which is very expensive and has long sales cycles (over 1 year) are vastly different than a company that sells printer paper and other inexpensive, low commitment products.
