Email Campaigns

I am a marketing mgr for an investment firm. We have an email campaign that is sent to prospects on a quartery basis. I use the following metrics to evaluate campaigns: overall sucess ratio, list growth rate, unsubscribe rate, bounce rate, block rate, unique open rate, unique click through rate, and pass rate. I believe I am using all of the correct metrics now I just need to find the industry averages for a benchmark/comparison purposes. Where can I get that info for free?

    If you've been running this campaign for a while, then you have your benchmarks - your own measures.

    Though you can (& should) look at industry averages, they're not a guide to how your own campaigns are performing. A book seller will get a higher conversion rate than a computer shop - you can't really compare them. So look at the industry benchmarks to understand how the shape of your campaign response varies from the benchmarks.

    Then, over time, try to beat your own benchmarks. keep testing new ideas (one at a time) to see what you can do to improve.

    And remember that your customers are a moving target - their attitudes will change over time. If you're not measuring & testing, they'll leave you behind.
