What's The Difference Web Metrics Vs Web Analytics

I am unsure what the difference is. Can someone explain?

    Not sure there is any one standard definition so here's my view on it:

    Web Metrics are the measurements made of a users visit, what they clicked, pages they visited, where they entered and exited, what they bought or looked at, how long it took, etc. Also applies to aggregated measurements made of many users visits.

    Web Analytics is the term used for the software to perform, as well as the science of, turning all that data into usable information that helps you improve the performance of the website to make it more productive for both owner and user.
