Software To Develop And Manage Seo/sem Campaigns

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi -

Relatively new to SEO/SEM and I am looking for a software package that will help step me through the process and then help manage my SEO/SEM campaigns.

Price is an issue since this is for a very small company.

Any suggestions would be great.

Good news for your budget - no software necessary. Just read through the archives here and read blogs like www.searchengineguide.com, www.smallbusinesssem.com, and www.stepforth.com.
It's definitely going to take some time to set things up (analytics software first-- Google Analytics is free and adding better features all the time), then site page titles, optimizing your content, and working on building links. It's a neverending process but all that's required is a little grunt work!
Warning: Be wary of paying for anything related to SEO; Google will blacklist you if they discover paid links, etc.
    Good luck!

You might want to look at Hubspot.com. They have several free tools, but also have paid support services. Some of it geared to small business. I haven't used them in the capacity you are asking; so, I am not aware of their pricing, but I do love their free stuff.

I'm going to recommend some free reports and some of the best SEO tools I've used.

There is a software package available that will help you analyze your web site and give you extensive recommendations, as well as help you track your sites progress or egress. Click here to check out the software: https://www.axandra.com/go.to/hertz2469

This same tool will also help you develop an extensive linking strategy, and build a network of refferals to your web site, and help you discover tons about your competitors and their web sites. Really, it is an extensive tool!

There are two free reports that you can download to learn more about SEO and how to improve your web site's performance.

Book one is a free 160 page ebook entitled 'Proven methods for successful search engine marketing' and here is the link to download it: https://www.Axandra.com/go-to/hertz2469/https://www.axandra.com/Successful-....

Book two is a free ebook entitled 'How to get high quality in-bound links' and here is the link to download it: https://www.Axandra.com/go-to/hertz2469/https://www.axandra.com/How-To-Get-....

The Andra software I recommended also offers a free monthly enewsletter where you can learn more and keep up to date with even more SEO education.

Here's a free SEO software tool and SEO training:

Definately use Google Analytics, but also activate webilizer and AWstats tracking and reports on your server (if you are linux server based). They too create some interesting reports to track vistors and help with SEO.

Use analytics. Google Webmaster Tools is very helpful. Web CEO is a good tool. Yahoo Explorer (for link profiling) and Google Adwords Keyword Tool are also very useful.

There are myriad free tools online. Most professional SEOs develop their own and/or utilize a number of free and paid tools because no one solution is excellent in all regards.

If you want to take a first step before becoming completely entrenched, take a look at my first 3 sentences. You can expand upon it later.

Also, you'll find that as your skills progress your dependency upon tools will diminish. Most SEOs don't use tools to help then optimize pages. They use them to save time or gain a fresh perspective.

"Warning: Be wary of paying for anything related to SEO; Google will blacklist you if they discover paid links, etc."

This is a bit alarmist. In cases where sites have blatantly sold links the sites in question have had their ability to pass PageRank diminished or eliminated. At the moment I can't think of any on the buy-side that have been blacklisted as a result. Their penalty has been the elimination of the value of the links they have paid for.

Participating in link farm link exchanges is something to be avoided. Also, reciprocating link campaigns may have some value but you do need to be weary of who you link to and therefore it is advised that you steer clear of this tactic unless you are skilled at vetting out the sites you are linking to. These tactics are not popular with- and are generally avoided by- good SEOs. And, please note I'm referring to bulk campaigns rather than reciprocating an occasional link to known sites.

Also, as dfigueroa says above, www.HubSpot.com has inbound marketing software which includes SEO tools that are built for small businesses. HubSpot starts at $250/month. Here is a video that explains more about HubSpot: https://www.hubspot.com/products/owner (Note: I work at HubSpot.)

Why don't you have a look at AdMeta, you can use a free trial for 30 days. No I have no relation with them, one of my customers is using it and we get very good results.

Remember anyhow to have a good analysis of your online presence. Do you know exactly which portals, sites and adwords are generating profitable visitors, if not customers. I have met several companies that serve champagne in the personnel's lounge to celebrate the huge number of visitors to their sites. When evereyone is sober again they start wondering why the revenues are not blowing the sky?
