Need Conference Giveaway Ideas

Posted by lathans on 250 Points
Hello everyone!
We are holding a small Conference in Orlando at the end of April for about 50 of our payroll/HR software clients. We will be giving away "goody bags" at registration that will have Conference info/agenda and some little tchotchkes. Included so far will be a zip drive with all conference materials/presentations (no 3-ring binders!!), a notepad, and an orange. Internal suggestions have included shell shaped wine stoppers, Orange or Disney magnets, and luggage tags. (We've done several "beach" themed conferences before so rule out flipflops, suntan lotion/aloe, beach towels, leis, etc. unless it's really different.)

Some particulars:
-The Conference theme is "Familiarize and Maximize"
-Ideally small on cost, big on "cool" factor
-not necessary to be branded; these are only going to current clients who use our product every day

Quick turnaround on this one, please. A big "thank you" in advance to all you Creative Thinkers!!

FOOD. That's what I always think of at conferences.

The typical promo stuff like computer screen cleaners (looks like a squeegy) are popular. Crystal Lite small packets. Starbucks VIA packets..you can get those cheap in bulk. The hotel coffee is probably horrible anyway

    How about:
    Orange flavored lip balm
    Orange Peeler
Coasters made to look like oranges
    Chocolate Orange Ball
Orange fruit shaped foldable tote (branded)

Sanitizer sprayer (great for any event where people will be in close contact with each other)

Sorry - I got on a roll with the orange theme. These are just some quick thoughts. Hope it helps!

    Cheers!

Some ideas that recently came across my desk:

Laptop tote in vibrant colors (to hold tchotchkes) kenakai.com or your favorite supplier

Travel size Merben's Butters - solid moisturizine sticks (no drip or leak in luggage) $8 per merben.com

    Good luck!

Seems like I had a promotion come across the desk for those six-pack sized soft sided coolers.

    I always appreciate a "quality(!)" pen - not some cheap $1.00 throw-away.

The stainless steel water bottles are really popular now.

    Good Luck!

how about something like a book or magazine that relates to your business. Because your theme is Familiarize and Maximize a motivational book, even small like "the richest man in babylon" would work, it is a good read and teaches some financial advice.

A calendar of surrounding after-hour activities of varied interest (sports, music, comedy, nature, etc.).

A coupon for a free (chair) massage ("We take the stress out of HR").

If you're giving away an orange, you MUST put in several packets of handiwipes. Oranges are a sticky mess.

And if you're having the fabu weather I'd expect (Orlando in April should be amazing), do sunglasses. You'll need a supply of men's and women's, and you'll either need to have the stash on hand to dole out as the person picks up their bag, or drop a coupon in the bag to a station they can go to during the conference to get theirs. Um, but this isn't low cost. You'll need to shell out at least $100 a piece for good polarized glasses. But everyone will love them and will use them for years. Or until the dog chews them up. Make sure they come in cases.

Would suggest you avoid heavy or bulky items like mugs, food, those crazy new "water bottle" thermos things. Too hard to travel home with.

    Have fun!

Glad to hear that you're using the USB's and saving the paper. Since Earth Day is April 22th which sounds like it's around the same time as your conference, you might want to go with the eco-friendly theme. You might check out blog from last week were we identified the Top 10 Eco Friendly items (https://bnoticed.tumblr.com/). From that list, a good item for a conference is a travel mug. A stainless steel travel mug is best since it holds temperatures best. We personally use the the "Nitro" (here's a link https://bit.ly/cAHcS7) which will keep ice in a drink all day. Also is great for hot beverages. And, it eliminates disposable cups!

Agree that food is always welcome. I attended a conference a while back where they gave out mints which seemed odd at first but everyone seemed to enjoy them. You can also get candy, chocolate and cookies with your logo (https://bit.ly/b64LNa) if you're so inclined.

Depending on your need for the conference, a logo calculator (maybe a solar calculator to keep it eco friendly, https://bit.ly/aZ9Lcz) could tie in with the familiarize & maximize theme. There are even calculators powered by water (go figure).

If you're going to have an "exercises" during the conference, you could tie in giveaways with that ... like stress reliever building blocks (think Lego style) that are used to "build" something during a team building exercise, for example (https://bit.ly/cELQ4K).

If you'll be doing any sight-seeing, you could go with something like a binoculars (https://bit.ly/cDkT5X) which would play in with the familiarize and optimize theme as well.

Good luck with the conference. If we can help, let us know.
