I have a complete line of rubs and bbq sauces as well as vinegar based Carolina sauces that I would like to market. There are sweet rubs and spicy rubs to enhance the flavors of all meat groups for smoking meats. They are different and work amazing.

Getting into a consumer packaged goods business is tough. It takes a major investment that could take years to payoff -- if you are one of the very few who eventually succeed. I've managed and consulted with dozens of these and have seen what usually happens up-close.

You need to start with the marketing plan and your business objectives. That's going to determine whether you can be successful or not. You might also find some helpful direction in a booklet titled "The 3 Pitfalls That Kill Most New Businesses ... and How to Avoid Them." https://bit.ly/SstLq2

I certainly don't want to sound overly encouraging, because I know how tough it can be. The worst thing is that well-meaning friends and family will encourage you to invest time, emotional energy and money without really understanding that they could be hurting, not helping.

Of course I wish you the best regardless.

I'm presuming that in developing your ideas, you've got all the health/regulation issues sorted.

Because marketing can be done in two ways - telling people you've got something good and spending substantial amounts of money in getting the message across.

The alternative is to work out what makes them special, encapsulate this in a tagline and go find the people who like those distinctive flavors. This takes a heap more imagination and no little patience, it is relatively inexpensive using online marketing methods. Emphasizing the real results of your products will roust out a market niche for yourself.

Does this help any? I could go into more detail if you wish. A lot more detail!

It's great that you've got what sounds like a first rate product range: what's your question?

I dont know if this would work.. but I would host a reception- serve bite sized pieces of the meats with various flavours and also sell the product then and there as well. Post reception-be active on FaceBook and maybe do like a food / recipe blog which uses your products.
    Good Luck!
