Subject Line Proofing

Posted by anis on 125 Points
I am trying to determine if my subject line on email campaigns is getting caught by spam filters.
It currently reads:
"Candles as a closing gift".

Length wise - I believe it meets the criteria.

I read somewhere that the word "free gift" would get it caught - so the question is - do filters get hung on the word "gift" or does it look for both words?

Is there a tool out there that can be sed to check subject lines?

The search term: https://www.google.com/#q=subject+line+checker gives 1.74 million results. You could begin by looking at some of the leading results.

Here are a couple of free online spam checkers: https://www.emailspamtest.com/ and https://www.contactology.com/check_mqs.php (for example).

I presume you're using lists you've bought here?

Way more important than spam filters is which of your subject lines brings you the most sales. My other thought is that you don't have to refer to candles or free gifts at all ... just allude to something that evokes something in that direction that gets their imagination fired up. Then the spam filter won't notice it - and they will!
