Disclaimer For Scratch Off Tickets

Posted by wendys on 125 Points
We'll be handing out some scratch off tickets at an upcoming show. They will be worth up to 30% off a purchase. Is there any type of disclaimer or legal text that I should include on the tickets?

Probably a good idea to ask an attorney with experience in this area. To my knowledge none of us are attorneys, and laws vary from state to state, province to province, and country to country.

You could just look at what others have done, but even that's not as reliable as asking a qualified attorney. Ditto for asking the folks who print scratch-off cards/tickets; after all, they are printers and not liable for what you distribute and promise.

I have doe scratch off tickets several times in the past. You need be clear on anything that the 30% does not cover. If it is for a certain time frame, state the expiration date plainly. It should also state that it has no cash value, cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupons or discounts and only one per transaction.
