Call For Action Buttons

Posted by BSFNS2 on 25 Points
How many 'Call For Action' buttons (Register Now) should I include in a marketing email? Does having more than one button increase the likelihood for a viewer to act? Thanks.

The term "buttons" is misleading. I prefer the term triggers.

Ideally? It depends on the kind of message content. Is there an image (with a caption). Then the image and a text element in the caption can be triggers.

A testimonial can be a trigger (particularly if the text takes a reader to a standalone landing page dedicated just to an extended description of the testimonial giver's back story).

Text links in the body of a message can work well. As can standalone buttons.

Remember to repeat the overall value of your offer in a P.S. statement.

Also bear in mind that any button or trigger is only as good as the value of the offer it's reinforcing. And that in turn, the value is only of importance in terms of conversion if its receipt massively solves the pain of the problem.
