Reaching The Affluent For Luxury Travel In Tokyo

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting a luxury lifestyle & concierge service in Tokyo for the travelling affluent/ experiential luxury travellers.

Tokyo is amazing but a lot is hidden, most people end up seeing the same cliche things, staying at the obvious places while the city is full of unique luxury experiences that can really mark you (in a good way).
The language and cultural barriers contribute to that gap. For example , unless you have a Japan based phone number at many place you cannot make a reservation (for top restaurants or activities like kabuki viewing or ryokan bookings, sumo, cultural activities, exclusive and unique experiences, etc.). Staff doesn't usually speak English so most visitors just end up experiencing the places that have some English speaking ability which is a really small percentage.

I want to reach the affluent travellers who are interested in more than the obvious sight seeing spots and English speaking venues.
Remove the stress from dealing with language barriers and confusion while giving them that unique cultural experience in a relaxed and stress free delivery of the experience.

I just gotta reach them and I am planning my marketing strategy for doing that.
Do you have any suggestions on my marketing channel mix.
On any reports that I could buy to find out more about how affluent luxury travellers make a decision to opt for an alternative (concierge/ lifestyle management service) rather than travel agent. Or their social media or other forms of decision making process habits.
Also, what do you think is the best approach in the marketing content, voice, etc. to attract my desired segment.
I want to showcase the exclusivity of accessibility as well of uniqueness of experience plus the stress removal factor while allowing them an independent travel (without a babysitter/ tour guide)

Would really appreciate your input.

Thank you!
