Name For A New Fashion Accessories Company

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi everyone,

A friend of mine in India has just started a new business of providing Clothing retailers (mainly spanish and some rest of Europe) with clothing accessories like jewellery bags, footwear etc.

Essentially he is a middleman showing designs of already existing manufacturers to prospective buyers and then arranging with the manufacturers for the production of selected pieces and shipping the finished goods to the buyers.

Preferably the name should keep into account sensitivities of the Spanish culture and people and something positive they can relate to easily. It can be a in english or spanish or any other language or for that matter any decent sounding name which ofcourse has some meaningful association with this industry.

Also, these products will be sold by the retailers under their own brand names so the final customer that is fashion conscious woman may not be the most important criteria though this fact may be used to identify the company.

The products are generally ethnic and/ or classical or oriental in nature (the kind of stuff you will get from third world countries) though a fair percentage of it is western style as well. The price range is generally low to mid though premium suggesting names that might work are welcome as well.

Important: There will not be any heavy promoting or advertising of the brand nameand the company will expand by word of mouth means so the name should have easy and high recall.

Looking for as many responses as possible.

Cheers!!

If I am correct basically your friend is a Sales Representative for other companies.

Maybe something like: The Essentials...everyone needs shoes with there outfit and all the girls I know carry purses. He can even place his name instead of the, and have business cards with the logos of the brands he is selling.

Go for Manana ( pronounced Maa-ni-ana).It means tomorrow. There is a common phrase- hasta manana- meaning till tomorrow.
There is a swang on the 'n'. And you can use the swang as an aspect of branding like the nike 'swoosh'.
It will be easy to pronounce for the Indian Orgn and has a spanish touch to it.
    'Familia' could also be tried.

Incidentally if you have thought of any names in English- you can use this site to translate into Spanish.

Sammy : Like I said, it's his own company. He kind of represents a small buying house to the manufacurers and basically sells the designs to further bigger buyers though he outsources the production to either the same manufacturer from whom the design came or to someone who can do it cheaper

Some of the names sound really interesting guys.... please give some more....

    Thanks for the site shghosh

    Hi.

    something very spanish is "movida".
"Movida" is a spanish way of life.
"Movida" means "movement" and a lot more.
If you go to Madrid at Plaza del Sol, at 3.00 a.m. you will find yourself embedded in the Spanish Movida... You will learn what I mean.

I has everything to do with clothes and apparel. and with style.

    Regards
    Antonio

    Doesn't Movida already exist?

I think I heard it in a commercial somewhere, they kept repeating it... Something to do with female beauty, but don't shoot me if I'm wrong!

    "Clásico" [Classics]

    ...unforgettable indigenous appeal

Taking into account the oriental element...what about?

"Órri" [Prononciation of oriental? àwree ént'l/ órri ént'l ]

    ...enchanting originals

    On the other hand...

"Clink" [What sounds do trinkets/charms make?]

    ...authentic charm

    Hope this helps
