Cheeky, Sassy, Off The Wall T-shirts

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
a friend of mine is trying to sell a "different" type of T-shirt. Check them out at www.notvanilla.us. I think they need to create a buzz about them, but how do you do that? Also what channels of distribution should they seek.

I would launch an interactive advertising campaign. You need to target your market (which should include blind and deaf folks and interpreters), find out where they go online, and blast those sites!

I think they are great! I'm gonna buy a few (my wife is a sign language interpreter).

If you need help, direction, etc, drop me an email and let's talk! Just click on my name!

    Good Luck!

George, just think of the advantages you'd have targeting the Larger Ladies in the market... enough shirt space for whole paragraphs in braille!

    Kidding, of course.

-- Shelley (who must now shop in the plus-size aisles, unfortunately)

    ps. Damn those french fries!

    Just some unconnected thoughts:

Send some to every shock jock in the nation. In key cases have them delivered by a woman wearing one.

Work for product placement on TV. There are plenty of shows where these are appropos.

Give (donate, gratis) a rack of shirts to key retailers near the shopping areas Hollywood types might shop. An accidental paparazzi shot of oh, say, Jeri Ryan or Liv Tyler, wearing one would be worth some work.

Don't neglect international business. Seek distribution deals quickly. They're going get knocked off real fast.

See to the legal - copyrights, any possible patents.

Get an online affiliate program up right away. Choose affiliates from every fashion-oriented site, every vertical industry possible (make shirts with sayings appropriate to the industry, particularly anything involving sense of touch, working with hands, sensuality, etc.), seek influential bloggers.

What a fun product to work with!
