Phew... Big topic... What kind of industry is this in?

Usually critical issues include data flow and handling, alignment of data use and conversion into information and subsequently knowledge throughout the business units.

ROI occurs through reduced multiple handling, single point storage, GUI based access and controls over who can see, touch, change information, automated report production, etc.

Give us a few more clues about the type of business and the problems it faces and maybe we can be a bit more targeted.

I have no direct exposure from a sales persepctive, we use KM to assist back office processes ("Who can I contact about?", "When will premium-widget be launched?" etc) rather than sales, and it seems to work well.

I always find the CIO a useful source of information for IT projects.

Good Luck

Are you looking for 'case study' type information or more academic empirical studies. This is a hot topic within univesrities at the moment, so there is quite a lot of info around. I can provide a trail of evidence from these sources if required...

Dear Tazkiwi,

Thank you for your initiatives.

I am looking for more academic empirical studies.

Would appreciate if you could kindly point me to the suitable infobanks and suitable guides / Profs.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards
CK

Hi CK. Well, it could be that your topic is a little outside the scope of most of our members' expertise.

KM is a fairly broad topic that includes a lot of IT and HR/OB material, with some overlap in marketing, correct? (e.g. CRM) Perhaps it would help if you reframed your question with a purely marketing angle, since your audience here is marketers. Maybe focus on measuring ROI for CRM (or specify other KM/marketing initiatives).

I will refund your points and close this question so you may try again, if you like. (Once a question is as old as this one is, it rarely picks up new momentum. It's best to start fresh.)

Best wishes,

Val

Hello Val, Noted your comments, shall try again, Thank you.

I think Tazkiwi (member responded) has got the drift of my question. But did not respond to my clarifications.

This is a wonderful site and maybe you should think in termsof having offline country reps across the globe to build a real world community. :) my 2 cents worth.

Thank you once again.
