I need a name for my event planning business. Something classy and simple. I will do corporate events and social events like birthday parties.

Where?

What do you know about your target audiences? Do you think the needs of your corporate clients are the same as those of the "birthday party" crowd? Do you think a corporate event planner will entrust an important event to "the lady who does birthday parties?"

Or am I not understanding the idea?

It helps to understand, but it means that the names we come up with will be less specific to any of your target audiences ... and therefore more "generic." Usually we recommend being as specific and focused as possible, so you really nail the positioning for your primary target audience.

Can you elaborate on the most important BENEFIT you provide for your target audience? Why should they hire you? What would they do if you weren't around? Would they do it themselves, or are there other event planners doing essentially the same thing? If the latter, what makes you different/better?
