What Is The Ladder Of Advancement In Marketing??

I was wondering if anyone could describe the ladder of advancement that marketing creates! I need the answer to this question for i am trying to complete a research paper for my class.     2. Describes Your Products/Services- Lets people know what you do

    3. Announces New Products/Uses-- to maintain customers and show variablility and growth.

    4. Differentiates Products/Services by virtualizing what your comapny knows best by positioning it in a unique way

    5. Client Aquisition- Get "business".

    6. Increases your Visibility and Exposure

    7. GENERATES INCOME!!!

    8. Helps Build Networks with Other Professional-- to further enhance company growth.

    Well, now that I see Josh's response, I'm confused.

    Are you wanting to know the different stages of "titles" one can expect to acquire working for a corporation in the marketing field?

    Or the "ladder of advancement" regarding the benefits of establishing sound marketing with a company?
