King Of Customer Retention?

Posted by ReadCopy on 50 Points
I am redesigning my personal website (before you look, I know it needs it), I have some personal views on customer retention, but would like to know who YOU think is the King of Retention!
Once I have some views I will supply links on my site to the king or kings.

Thanks

I think my 1st Place vote would have to go to Sam Walton.

Although the stores ae not necessarily the most prestigeous, he started out offering name brand products at incredibly low mark-ups with covenient locations.

Although later, his predecessors have taken advantage of his "philanthropic" approach by advertising the lowest prices on certain items, and boosting up the prices on other common items.

I must say it is a good business strategy since there is a perceived value ("Hey, I'm getting this toothpaste for $1.50 cheaper than anywhere else in town, but the 2-liters of Dr. Pepper are $0.20 more....oh well, I'm here already...and after all, I'm saving money on the toothpaste!").

People don't seem to mind....Wal-Mart keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger......

I almost said Bill Gates but he doesn't use retention, he utilizes detention!! He has made it to where you don't use his products because you choose to, but because you have to!

My 2nd Place vote goes to Ray Krok

Most think he was in the burger business. Actually, he was into real estate. He went around purchasing land on as many city/town intersections as he could for the future investment potential.

Only after doing so did he tried to devise a way to utilize and increase the value of the property. How about selling food?!!!

There is no need to really go on from there because we all know that they aren't the best burgers in town, but they are consistant, cheap and convenient (the 3 C's). The rest is history.

    3rd Place.....Bugsy Siegel

Las Vegas!! Utilizing the best retetion of all....GREED!!!!! I think this speaks for itself.

I almost put him at first place, but.......

I hope that helps your site! By the way, I can give your site a fece-lift....drop me an email!

Nike and Coca Cola, hands down. These brands actually have personalities;they elicit feelings. Many people actually have memories tied to these brands (my first Nikes, the night I drank that rum and Coke . . . ok, just kidding on the second one).
If that doesn't retain customers, I don't know what does.
