Brochure Redesign

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
We are in dire need to redesign our outdated corporate brochure and could use some advise on where to begin. We have a fairly small budget and would like to perform most of the tasks such as copy writing and layout internally.

Suggestions?

A few other things you will want to consider are:

-What kind of shelf life do you want this piece to have?
-Will you need to update on yearly basis?
-How many do you expect to use, given your sales and marketing efforts?
-How much will your printer charge to revise/reprint?
-Will the design of the brochure reflect your corporate ID and Website?
-Will you be mailing this piece? If so, you may want to make sure the size will help you save on postage.

    Good luck.

    5th P:

Great questions. Here are your answers:

    - Budget is between $3K - $5K.

    - We have an in-house graphic artist that will be using Illustrator to design, Photoshop for graphic design, and Page Maker for layout.

    - Proposed layout is uncertain. We are looking at a 6-pg brochure with the cover and text stock at 9 x 11.5. This may change.

    - Run amount beginning at 10K.

All of the above advice is great and novel.

You definately need to determine the layout and content prior to any art or picture fusion.

However, I'm a bit confused about your needs. Your question stated you are planning to do the layout and copy inhouse. Yet, you replied to 5th P you have a graphic artist with skills in the Adobe suites.

So, are you planning to design the whole thing, graphics and all inhouse and are simply asking if any of us know of a good print company?

Or is your artist plannig to do the layout in Pagemaker, and "proposed" designs in Illustrator and Photoshop for an outside source to improve upon?

As many have stated...does it really need to be updated? An important question. Before doing anything I would get some second and third opinions.

Therefore, if you approve, please send me the graphical representaion of your brochure ( I have all of the Adobe programs and more so format is not an issue). I will look it over for free and give you my non-biast opinon. I suggest you do the same to others who have offered their services as well. I assure you, I will not solicite my service, only give you my opinion and let you decide who to help you.

My email: jett_enterprises@cox.net . You may want to send it in a few emails or zipped down since the file sizes are most likely huge.

Oh yeah, and please elaborate on your exact needs.

    Thank you!
