Well technically without business or prospect of business- you are not "in business" yet. What strengths do you draw from-- what is your background. Obviously you did no business planning, or you'd have a plan to get clients now.

My advise is to sit down and do that plan. Do an analysis of your competitors, where they are, their strengths and weaknesses. By doing this research you will find your niche will bubble to the surface and you will know where to go to get your first clients.

You've just opened a business but have no clients and don't know how to find them. And, according to Craig's List, you're also hiring?

Look, with the best will in the world, your "plan" (or your lack of one) is a recipe for disaster.

To create a client base you need to get your name out there. To do that, you need to network. Consider giving free talks at community centers, senior centers, and to local community groups. Establish wellness training, create educational opportunities, and become known for doing good things.

No one's going to hire you until they feel they know you, like you, and trust you. You therefore need to generate good will. Forget hiring staff just yet. You need a client base before you can expand, otherwise you've no way of paying people.

    I hope this helps.

Carol and Gary are right. You need to be seen where and when your prospects are looking, and with a level of service that meets or exceeds their needs.

See our profile to call if you want to discuss further - planning, advertising, profiting - getting your business going.

    Sincerely,

introduce yourself to social workers at area hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. Be sure you are qualified for state sponsored/Medicaid waiver programs.

    Some ideas for consideration:

Municipal social service agencies and senior citizen centers; physicians; hospitals/ED departments and social workers; health care clinics; elderly housing projects can all be put on your prospecting list. Posting information on public bulletin boards is a possibility for getting your name out there. Check with local press to see when/if they might be covering local health care options to either purchase an ad or for possible PR potential.
