Selling On Amazon - Inserting Photos

Posted by Peter (henna gaijin) on 25 Points
Working on setting up an store on Amazon, so products can be sold through the Amazon system. I have seen some products have photos in the Product Description section, which I would like to also do. Amazon's official word is that they don't have a way to do that, yet I see them there, so there is some workaround. Anyone know what it is?

When I enter the basic img src= html into Amazon, they turn the left brackets into < (and a similar code for right bracket). That seems to be how the prevent html from being added. Any ideas how I get around this?

One of the products that shows up right away on my amazon home page is for Candy Crate 1980's Retro Candy Gift Box - amazon.com/gp/product/B0002R5Q1Y/ref=s9_simh_gw_p325_d0_g325_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_r=03WR7F3Z1VN7DV8916B0&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=507846

They have a right and left justified picture in their Product Description section.

I did open the page source for the page, and it just shows a standard <img src= code there. When I try to enter this, amazon turns the < into the code. Trying to figure out how to get around this bracket to code conversion.

Unable to put any HTMP into the Product Description section, because Amazon automatically converts < into the code "<". Without a bracket, the html is not read.

Some have found ways to insert the brackets, allowing the HTML to be read. Hoping to find this trick.

Tried. Doesn't do any better. Still gets converted to the code.

You cannot add html when updating a product from the Amazon site / web GUI. You have to use the Item Upload template text file.
