Email Migration

Posted by beaucommunications on 125 Points
In your experience, how long does it REALLY take to migrate from email marketing service to a more complex interactive marketing provider? What is the estimated time-line to plan for?

Sorry, but there is no firm answer. Much will depend on what shape - and perhaps what format - your existing files are in as well as on the complexity of and assistance you'll receive from that more complex interactive marketing provider.

Are you transferring CRMs as well? If you are just switching EMS, within a couple months or sooner, you should be able to get your one off emails running. I would expect it would take a full year to get close to being fully optimized (nuture campaigns, drip campaigns, etc.)

It really does depend on what shape your files are in to begin with, and how you plan to use your new service provider. For really simple applications it shouldn't take more than a few weeks. For more complex applications it could take several months. The support services at your new provider can also make a huge difference, of course.
