Posted by Rajesh on 125 Points
Hi there,

I have a Institute Management Software, which will function both as an web & desktop application. I would like to know what would be the best strategy to do SEO for this software. To say exactly, I would like to know what would be the search keywords, that people will search for this type of software. Please let me know.

Thank you all.

Who specifically would benefit from this software? What are they using now? Why would they switch to yours'? What actions are dramatically easier/better to perform? What are people searching for now? Have you developed any case studies from people/businesses using your software?

Rajesh, you need to do some reverse-engineering here. Because nobody can tell you what your prospects are searching for. But I do have a strategy - and it will cost a little money, so be prepared to invest in this. It will be worth your while as you will be able to build an online campaign that will bring you a profit.

Take the standard keywords for your system (use the Google Keyword checker) and determine the most expensive keyword. Use that and a well written landing page, and aim for position #3 (usually 1/3 of the #1 price). You're after results not kudos. Get some clicks - and have an online chat box on your landing page. That's your opportunity to chat with them and get ideas and info about their needs and why they're searching.

The Facebook advertising algorithm allows you to target such customer niches that you've mentioned - and use a chatbox on your landing page!

That's when you can establish a real campaign, based on the things people have said to you.
