Copywriter In Dating Advice Niche For Vsl

Posted by nilskauwertz on 250 Points
I am looking for a cutting edge copywriter in the dating advice niche.

You will need to have a proven track record of converting (cold) traffic into sales through VSL and sales funnels.

While I need a VSL in the beginning, I need further written marketing material like auto responder sequence ect.

My budget is about $2000, but could be expanded for the right candidate. The product is not fully created yet, but there is a general direction. We will use the VSL for a test and create the product if it converts. Therefore you have a free hand with your message and your promise, because we can adjust the product accordingly.

We will also use one version unedited from what you would like to use in the VSL.

Out of experience, we prefer male writers for this market, but if you are female and have the needed references, please contact me!

You may be better off posting this project on ODesk or Elance. How do you plan on attracting cold traffic? Why not begin by warming that traffic up, qualifying the leads, and THEN offering your video sale letter? If your product isn't fully created, you'll gain more traction by offering someone else's product as an affiliate first.

You do this after you've offered readers relevant content to help you build rapport, trust, and belief, and to position yourself as a trusted advisor. Then you offer the affiliate product. When that traffic converts, next you offer your own product at a later date.

I agree w/ Gary Odesk or Elance would be your best bet.

Hi Gary, thanks for your answer. I am already warming up traffic & sending them affiliate offers, so this (the own product + VSL) is the logical next step.

Unfortunately, I have hired 3 copywriters on Odesk before, and I can not say that they were top talent. I had a screening process, but the copy did neither convert, it was just good at making my traffic bounce.

Any places were I can find top talent?

You may want to look in the Warrior Forum.

The issue of writing effective copy is to meet the needs of the market, not the demands of the employer. This implies two things: you need to be able to test your market in some fashion, and you need to be able to change the copy to meet their needs - proactively is best. A thorough understanding of emotions and their nature is a big advantage here.

More to the point, what do you actually want your website visitors to do? If you want them to sign on the dotted line as soon as they've read the copy, you're missing out on a lot of potential customers. After all, most people don't get married after the first date (myself excluded). They get to know each other, learn to trust each other and then he pops the question. You should be viewing your marketing from the same perspective.

If you do want the top talent, it's going to be very expensive. Drayton Bird might be able to help you, he has quite a few guys working for him - who he supervises with a large club from what I hear - [Phone number deleted by staff]

He's very good at getting the tenor right for a conversion. Money well spent.

For two grand you might find someone who's OK, but you'll have issues attracting "top talent": most of the copywriters I know won't pick up the phone for less than 8K. You get what you pay for.

Message to staff - you deleted the public telephone number of Drayton Bird. If anyone needs it, it's available through his website.
