Pay Per Use Affiliate Marketing

Posted by tclarke on 250 Points
We are an online advisory platform where experts share actionable insights with small to midsized companies to help them grow faster. Experts charge $75-$100 to participate in these sessions. I'm looking for ways to market these sessions by linking them to articles related to the article (e.g. we have session coming up on getting your product into mass market distribution)...many articles on this topic...trying to approach these folks and see if they would be willing to promote session on Pay-per-sale basis next to their article - does this type of advertising exist? Thanks!

Yes, it's called CPA, or cost per action/cost per acquisition advertising.

Thank you Gary. I have reached out to several publications (like this one) and they don't offer this type of advertising next to articles. Most of it is flat rate advertising via banner ads. As we are a start-up, this is not in the cards for us. Since all of our expert sessions are topic based, articles are a great way to find a very targeted audience.

Have you considered reaching out to the owners of niche blogs?

Dabbled in it with little success, but honestly, more effort is likely warranted on this front. Great suggestion Gary!

I'd suggest working with a Adwords expert to help you identify the keywords people use in searching for help like that you offer, and then creating highly targeted landing pages. Alternatively, create great content/white papers, place them on others' sites, with a clear call-to-action at the end of the piece to contact you for more info.
