Presenting Marketing Update

Posted by wendys on 25 Points
I've been asked to give an update to the company on Marketing activities for the last quarter. Basically, what projects did Marketing do?

X # of shows and events with 8 widgets sold
2 month long promotions
customer communication piece

I have the activities listed on slides, but how do make the presentation about more than reading what's on the slides?

    Hi -

I typically present to the Executive 1X per month with a larger presentation at the mid year point. You really need to make sure you know your audience so you don't lose them in the numbers.

As it is marketing, I would be as visual as you can - maybe have a few edited screens of key campaign pieces or pics from the shows you did/booth etc. Something that brings it to life and breaks up the screen.

Give them an idea of reach of your pieces and any insight into response rate etc. Then - I find it works best to end with where you are going next. What are your plans for next phase of these projects or key recommendations after going through these activities.

    Hope this might help.

Show pictures of the booth at the shows, if you have. Talk about who the show reached (target audience of the shows).

Show pics of the promotion piece. Talk about who it went to and such.

Same for the 2 month promotion.

Use images. Do NOT read out what's on the slides. Use very little text on slides, if any.

Since ultimately what's important are sales, collerate your activities to sales.
