Relaunch Of E-commerce Site

We will be launching an improved version of our e-commerce site. It is more user friendly and has a new look and feel. What items would you put on the checklist for building awareness to your customers? We want to let the current users know the site will be changing and entice other customers who don't currently use it to log on and check it out.

    How do you know it's more user friendly? Have you done before/after testing? Have you solicited feedback from your clientele? Ultimately, why should someone care about the improvements?
