Is It Still Useful To Buy "complaints" Urls?

Posted by lstevens on 25 Points
Years ago the company I work for bought the URLS for our company name with "complaints" at the end. We do not have a B2C retail website or products with our name on them. (We are a cooperative of independent retailers.) Once upon a time, this was considered a good practice. Is that still true? It seems there are so many other forums for Trolls to vent on that this practice might be outdated.

It's a losing battle to try to anticipate how someone might wish to publicly complain. IHateCompanyName.com vs. IReallyHateCompanyName.com vs CompanyNameSucks.com. Better to put into place a clear channel for people to give you feedback (and for your company to act upon it), so there's no reason for people to vent.

    Probably not.
