Name For A Wellness Style Jewlery Line

Posted by ttiffanymarieee on 155 Points
I have started up my own handmade jewelry business recently and need help re-naming the business before I put my shop and website. I already have social networking sites open under a different name with very minimal likes (mostly friends and family) and I have been preparing my inventory, and getting stock photos taken. I am almost ready to open my online shop and start selling but I am having second thoughts about the name. I originally went with "Velvet Showroom" but I don't feel like the name represents my niche or what I am offering. All my jewelry is handmade "boho" style stuff with a earth twist. Everything I made has something alive about it. Weather it be something with flowers seeds, water, moss, healing stones, or semi precious stones. It kind of has a "hippie" feel but my main target is to people into wellness, healing, yoga, and being more in touch with nature. Also it could be seen as "gypsy" style jewelry because some of my more expensive pieces are vials with different "potions" in them. Recipes based on folklore and mythology. Everything I will be selling will be something to keep you connected to the earth, elements, and just our universe as a whole. Maybe using key words like earth, energy, vitality, spirit, healing, life, bio, enchanted, moon, and any other words that have a earthy, mysterious feel.

Since there are already a huge number of people offering jewelry using keywords that you suggest, it would make sense to first identify who specifically would want what you have (and why they'd want it). Once you understand their needs, then you can create a name that's in alignment with their values. Ultimately, though, your name/website won't be enough to get clients. Do you have a well though out marketing plan? If so, the germ of an idea for a name is likely somewhere in that document.

I actually have (what I think) is a pretty good marketing plan. I thought I would launch online, then let my self collect clients naturally for the first month. Then I was thinking I could host a few online social media raffles or maybe do a season box program where every certain amount of weeks you get a box in the mail with my highest quality chain and 3-4 charms that would be interchangeable on the chain. The box would only be available to those that sign up for it before the deadline. Also I have a good friend with a very successful Yoga/ Wellness blog that agreed to collaborate with me on a Instagram raffle, and I was going to give them one piece from my collection to model and promote. I have a few other marketing ideas coming along, but I am only 20 so I don't have a ton of knowledge on different marketing campaigns- mostly I would be using social media, internet advertising, and connecting with other well known people in my niche.

I have been looking around and I see 3 groups of people buying similar items on Etsy, Ebay, and other online stores.
    1. Young girls, because the boho/wellness/"hippie" lifestyle seems to be getting very popular. I went down to the mall (where I never go) to look at the stores and see what girls my age are buying. FOREVER 21 has actually put out a handful of new necklaces made of FAUX stones, and FAUX gems. So I am hoping that means there is a need for what I am making.

    2. I noticed the next group of people I see buying this like are men and women usually 20-35 that are more connected to the positive lifestyle. The people in this age group I find are spending more on each piece than then younger people in group one. So I feel like my target is really here. People that are into yoga, wellness, balance, meditation and other like topics.

    3. The last group I was surprised to see is buying a lot of natural things, "potions" and herbal jewelry are people that practice "WICCA" Wicca is a "witchcraft" based "religion where people sometimes use healing stones, herbs, seeds, ancient recipes, moon water and other natural and enchanted elements to strengthen their spells and spiritual summoning. I have spoken with a few women who purchase things like this, and openly practice wicca and I have witness some of them purchase healing stone necklaces for up to 45$. They spend a lot of their "potions" and other materials because they are truly connected and very much believe in their religious choice. I have seen 1-3 ETSY Stores selling healing gem jewelry, boho jewellery, and other things similar to what I will make but they are pushing it to this group and are making a lot of money. I don't want to not cater to this group of buyers but I dont want to focus on it either- but I don't want people seeing the words "wicca" or"magik" on my page as some people don't agree with things like that.
