What have others done at your tournament? Are the players looking for something interactive? What does your company sell? How does this offering connect with the Chamber/golf?

If this were my task, I would spend 4 to 6 hours identifying golf fundraisers and making a list of potential activities. Once you have a list of 10 or 20 or so, you can whittle down the list to review candidates which best to your venue and audience and organization.

You could begin to make your list by searching for "golf tournament ideas" and then expand your list by searching for specific ideas such as, "longest drive" and "closest to the pin".

marshmallow drive - just like longest drive contest at that hole except the players use marshmallows. While you hand them their marshmallow you can casually engage them about your services/products.

I have done a marshmellow chipping contest....we gave every single player coming through a silver dollar in their hands. If they wanted to chip they had to put their silver dollar into the glass jar...first won to chip into a silver metal bucket with 3 marshmellows won all the silver dollars accrued in the jar. We made them give us a business card and tell us their biggest challenge related to sales to get the silver dollar.

Super fun exercise....I grabbed 100 plus cards in a single day and scheduled next events on the spot with 20 of them right into my calender and theirs.
