How To Conduct A Website Meeting

Posted by lmoussa on 250 Points
Hi All,

I need to conduct a website workshop meeting with the sales teams and directors to retrieve information from them on what they want to use the website for. Does anyone have a recommendation on how I can conduct this meeting and get people to start talking and discussing?

Show them and tell them how it will benefit them. Do not list features, they will not care about features.

If this was to be face-to-face, how would you conduct that meeting?
How will a website meeting enhance or reduce the effectiveness of the meeting for your participants?

Why a website workshop? You will get better input if you conduct one-on-one interviews. Meetings are too stiff/formal and web-based removes a lot of body-language and deep interaction.

the meeting is about developing a website for the business I need the sales team to give me feedback of what they will use the website for.

Talk with the sales team one at a time, face to face if possible. You don't need a big meeting for this. In fact, there are some drawbacks to doing this in a meeting. Better to interview them one at a time.
