A prospect just called asking for franchising evaluation and marketing assistance. Has any one out there ever had a client prospect with a new company come to them with this type of assignment?

Yes I have. Franchising is a major pain in the you know what. If they are prepared to pay the costs, then let them do it. Anything can be franchised.

It costs about $8000-$10,000 for an attorney to draft what is called a UFOC (Franchise Offering Circular) required by the Federal Trade commission.

Another $8000 for an FTA auditor to review it.

Plus every single company involved (including marketing consultants) must disclose EVERYTHING about themselves, bios, criminal background, financial records...EVERYTHING.

It gets reall sticky an takes months to prepare. The only way to stay out of the UFOC ( as a marketer) is to remain independant and not have any kind of profit share from the franchisers or franchisees. Rather, work on a straight retainer.

It all depends how much work you want to do and the ROI.

Email me for more questions if necessary!

    Good Luck!
