Use Of The Registered Mark On Company Logo

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I work in MarCom for a medium size, publicly traded, corporation. My boss insists that we use the Registered mark (the little capital R inside a circle) as a permanent part of our logo. I disagree with this use, mostly because I never see company logos with this mark. Can anyone clarify the proper thing to do here.

In all of the companies for which I have worked in the past, we always used the same rule: use the 'tm' or 'R' every time the logo appears is in its graphical form. In text, use the 'R' or 'tm' in just the first instance.
