One out of ten presentations is now viewed via mobile device, up 640% over 2010 levels, with Apple devices the top choice for viewing such presentations, according to a report by SlideRocket.

More than three-quarters of mobile presentations are viewed via Apple devices: iPhone accounted 39% of total mobile presentation views in the first quarter of 2011 and the iPad accounted for 37% of such views.

Google-Android devices accounted for 24% of mobile presentation views in 1Q11, but Android leads the pack in rate of growth for presentation viewing, registering an impressive 789% growth over 1Q10 levels.

Below, other findings from SlideRocket's Presentation Index, based on a survey of 250 business professionals.

Adding audio and video to presentations appears to boost viewer engagement:

  • 98% of presentations containing audio are viewed to the end.
  • Presentations containing video are viewed nearly 20% longer than those without video.
