How Does The Web Site Handles Security,confidentiality?

Need to know how the web sites address legal, ethical and regulatory issues, and how the web sites handle the security, confidentiality and international issues?

    As you mentioned, there are not a lot of laws which govern the Internet. Part of this is due to the way the Internet was founded as a group aimed towards a goal of free flowing information and part of it because the Internet is super-national, so no one set of laws governs it.

    There are some laws in certain countries aimed at security and confidentiality. For example, most sites in the United States are required to have a privacy policy posted in an easy to find place on their web site. And in cases like commerce, even though it takes place on the Internet, it still is governed by a country's commerce laws.

    Other than that, much of the reason that companies follow a set of standards in these areas is because of the ease of information flow on the Internet (particularly negative info, so if they do something against the norms, the word of them being bad gets out very quickly).
