A colleague of mine who raises funds abroad has objected vehemently to my suggested change. These were her comments:
If we are changing our line to "Helping People Face Their Challenges": Why? And where are we helping them? The original line told a lot in a few words.
One of the most common faults in a tagline is "lack of focus". I fear that the new line is too general, and subject to each individual's interpretation.
Please don't drop the fact that we have been around since ''79 or for 25 years. This adds significantly to our credibility.
For fundraising and PR abroad, it is critical to emphasize that we operate in Israel.
I put this to you, the experts, to decide: Will it stay “The Israel Health Support Organization Since 1979,” or should we opt for “Helping People Face Their Challenges”? Or perhaps something else entirely?
Thanks,
Molly
