Tagline For Seat Sponsorship
Posted By: melsween* on 1/26/2005 1:46 PM (CST) 125 Points
Our hope is that you can add some sizzle to our concepts to make a theme that will encourage alumni and friends to “purchase” a seat in our new college athletic center. We want to make sure alums understand this is a sponsorship (rather than ownership) opportunity… we’re trying to avoid alums kicking people out of “their” seats.

First Suggestions:

A seat in MSOE’s history -*
Best seat in the house - no
Seated among champions
Leave your mark - NO
Leave your legacy
Step up and take your seat
Your seat in the winner’s circle -NO

Can you help?

Let other people grab your seat!

Put your seat in good hands! (Or "You seat in good hands")

Put their pictures on the seats and make comments about kissing up?

Let the engineer select from a group of "Custom" designs for 'their' seat and tell them: It won't be complete without YOU!

And try to get classes to sponsor rows!

"Put your derrieres in our chairs!"

Create a campaign around the kids game musical chairs -- don't miss a chance to be seated!

Great idea -- I love it.

"Your seat is waiting"

"Join the elite -- sponsor a seat!"

"Don't just sit there -- grab your seat in history!"

"So many sponsors, so few seats -- get yours now"

If I think of any others I'll come back and post. K

Sorry in advance if these are too silly --- if nothing else maybe they'll help trigger some other ideas!

"Feeling CHAIRitable? Sponsor a seat."

"Do your part for CHAIRity -- sponsor a seat."

You could create your theme around "unfortunate" chairs (seats) that haven't been sponsored yet. Show an "unhappy/unsponsored" seat vs. a "happy/sponsored" seat.

I love K's suggestion -- "Don't just stand there!" Perhaps pair it with: "Don't just stand there! Pull up a chair."

What I like about this approach is that it suggests that alums and friends of the university can do their part to make the athletic center a reality. And that's, ultimately, what you want.

Consider this, alums have spent 3 plus years sitting in class, investing in their own future...some may have even been on the team(s),

now is the time for them to sponsor the seat for someone else possibly even for their number of years at the university - and to Invest in our alma mater's future

"Be a fan, even when you can't be here. Sponsor a chair in our new home advantage."

"You'll be here in School spirit. Sponsor a chair."

If they were on a team, then I'd have a separate campaign for them - and put their name, team, number, and year on the chair.

"Winning teams value their fans - You were there, Sponsor a chair!"
"Support the future, sponsor our home advantage.

Hope this isn't too long winded.

Les

I'd be interested in knowing your mascot name to see if it can be tied in. More later.

How about pitching the temporary ownership of the person sitting in the seat, to your potential sponsors.

Depending on how tongue in cheek you want to make it (no pun intended) each seat could have a tag and the sponsor's name along the lines of "For this game, your ass is mine!" - this seat brought to you by xyz autos'

You could continue the theme throughout the year by having random prize draws for "...anyone currently sitting in a Taco Bill seat wins..."

This process means rather than just pitching for sponsors, you sell them 'ownership' of the person sitting in it and that connects your fund raising drive to direct benefit in the mind of your sponsors. You enable them to provide further benefits by linking their name to random prize draws, and this generates more goodwill for them, you and fans.

So sell them a package deal, not just the seat.

hi melsween

how about these...............

"Sit on Your Seat" (referring to the sponsored seat)
"Brought to you by @@@"
"Your Back belongs to @@@"
"Its Your Alma Mater, Sponsor a Seat"
"Its Your Turn to have someone's ass"
"Its Your Chance to Sponsor a Seat"

hope this helps.

cheers!!

Great ideas! I'm concerned about clarity, though, so donors don't think they get "squatter's rights" to the seat forever. So I lean more on the donation end, with a little tone of fun.

"Do Your Share, Add a Chair"
"Do Your Fair Chair!"
"Be a Fan. Host a Fanny!"

Or maybe have fun with cheers and cheerleading; maybe a "club" of people who donate, called "Chairleaders."

"You're never too old to be a Chairleader!"

Three (Thousand) Chairs for MSOE!

Maybe a quirkly analogy that will help them "get it."

Plant a Chair for MSOE!

Or maybe interesting ways to explain the concept:

"Sponsor one seat--it's like donating 75 times a year!"

"You give once; MSOE benefits over and over!"

"Finally, a donation that has LEGS!"

Finally, to release pent up silliness....

"If you don't sponsor a seat, you can just go sit on it."

"Sponsor a seat. There's something in it for MSOE!"

"Buy a seat and butt out!"

"There'll always be a seat with your name under it."

(This is fun, but gotta run for now!)

What about this:

"Want to build a great stadium? Have a seat."

Stadium, arena, sports venue, whatever...
and put the team/college name in front of it.

...okay, so no mascot...

How about:
* "Please be seated"
* "Your very own seat of power"
* "Take a stand and take a seat"
* "Your friends will call you 'Chairman'"
* "Chair your/the Wealth"

If it weren't for the sexist nature of "Chairman" that'd be my first choice. (I'm guessing I'm not lucky enough to find that you go to an all male school)

Best of luck!

My 2 cents'

'Thought nothing would ever get you back to school to sit down again?'

'A whole new meaning to bums on seats'

'Where rising from a warm seat does everyone some good'

'For all the hours you sat in class - we want to thank you'

'Our sports teams are so good this will be the most visible piece of ad space in the arena'

Good luck!
