Paying Extra Fee

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Currently, the MarketingProfs forum is free for basic members. And later there will be a small annual fee for a package of extra services (from page "Ask a Question"). May i know your opinion for what do you think about paying more extra fee? Are you going to switch to other sites where there are no fee charge?

Everybody will get for the points. Please let me know your opinion.

How do you know they will charge?

Well, I suppose it depends on the price and what the "extra services" entail.

As long as it isn't too exorbant and/or restricts my ability to participate at the current level, I would probably stay.

It all depends on how you intend to use the forum and how valuable the forum is to you or your company.

Personally, I like the challenges and competition with other "experts"!

    David,

    FYI-

bbee is referring to THIS forum in particular. Not her own.

Marketingprofs.com has made a statement there will soon be an annual fee for "Premium" services.

She is inquiring the current and frequent users of this forum for their opinion.

Val, as long as we can exchange points for premium services then I think the majority of people would be happy.

The standard model seems to be: Offer a package free, get "members" so you build a prospective client base, then offer them an upgraded service for a fee. With an option to stay on the lesser service, still free...

Sounds like a lot of other models...
    TV content
    ISP's
Joke-a-Day and other free website newsletters
Cell Phones and other Call Plans
    start-up Magazines
Food & Beverage sampling in retail

    And so on

People generally make judgements about whether something has adequate value to them (or not) before parting with their hard-earned. If that ever ends, please let me know so I can go out and shoot myself!
