Can You Work With- Nest?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi Everyone!

I'm helping a friend with their real estate business.
She is ready to branch of on her own with a team of agents that are awesome!
She loves the concept of "nest" instead of home.... as the main business name LIKE: New Nest Group
BUT beware some domain names are unavailable, which is what I'm finding difficult, every time I find something groovy the domain name is already taken...
Ideally, we would have NewNest.com...
The catch is finding a Branding Business Name with a realistic aim for a DOMAIN NAME that ISN'T already taken...
another example is the listing Site Name/ Site that features houses for sale: I like ...
EmptyNest.com (of course it's taken :)
New Nest Group Realty is something I thought of to give you guys something to work with...
I've seen some GENIUS responses to other posts, so I thought I'd reach out and ask for a little help!
SO, to be specific-- I need some inspiring play on words that involve the CONCEPT of NEST instead of Home... So that I can work with the domain name setback.
I'd hate to just post a generic: I need a sharp name for my real estate business, hope that "NEST" gives everyone something to work with.

Thanks in advance!

Tinker, I read your responses, and I was so hoping you'd respond

I did think of Green Nest, but the domain is taken!

I've been at it for hours, so the domain thing is driving me nuts :)

I feel like I'm almost there like I'm on the verge of something but can't seem to put my finger on it!

    For example: Real Simple Realty

I personally am not fond of the nest idea. I know that some people my call their home their nest, but I do not think it is a majority. For some if may just be plain confusing.

Your last post did not really have anything to do with nest. Are you moving in a new direction?

What is unique about your friend and her service?
What sets her apart from other brokers?
Is she looking for a name that can expand with other brokers?
Will she be under a larger name, Coldwell Banker, Remax, etc?

These will give us more direction.

    Excellent feed back gentleman!

    Mike:

I don't much agree with building a business around the business owner or the owner's talents, at least from the sense that in Real Estate when one brands him or her self, and becomes successful, the expectation is that clients want to work ONLY with the big kahuna!

Home buying is one of the most important decisions in a clients life, and in the U.S. it's usually the biggest asset a client has- or AT LEAST the first.

The biggest mistake I see business owner's make it to make it about THEM and not about their clients.

Then when they get ready to retire or sell their business they have that uh oohhh problem.

AND- I like your probing question about strengths though...

She's progressive, SHARP, and knows her stuff. She's the kind of Broker I'd want, and I've consulted many.

She's spunky, and fresh, and tenacious.

She's can negotiate her tail off, and knows how to help someone put together a plan so that the home clients buy is the home that's BEST for their needs.

Honestly, she's Ideal. What a Broker should be.

She just has a hard, and ugly business name. THANKFULLY it's only been her's for a few weeks.

YES- she will be under a larger name. Like Remax, etc.

    PHIL:

I hear what your saying about cute: but I waver on that side, because she's a powerhouse and I want to soften her posture to appeal to more clientele.

She's kind, but resonates professional strength.

    So let's go with "FRIENDLY".

The kind of broker you'd introduce your mother to, but still want to take out dancing...

THE WAY OF the dignified and pragmatic is out.

FRIENDLY is in. We want to attract the hearts and minds of clients, not just the pockets.

Respectfully, I just want to be careful of sounding like a tuff corporation... or Americorp Realty- BLAH. So bland.

SHE'S not bland, and she doesn't want bland clients...

Can you appreciate where I'm coming from?

Domain names are the hang up less than 3 words.

    Any other ideas?

    I appreciate your input Randall...

To address your first question, They were great idea's because they addressed what I asked in the first place. Just read the subject line of my post...

We had the concept of NEST, and wanted to work EITHER with that OR the encompassing impression:

NEST is HUGE right now. If you don't believe me spend some time on go daddy working with it.

IN FACT I encourage you to check out:
thenest.com-- or NestRealty.com, inest.com-- and the list goes on and on...

Generation X responds to cutesy, friendly, beautiful and clever. BUT more importantly- HELPFUL.

A generation of Do It Yourself, OR those that sincerely want to understand the process, and be educated in their decision.

Respectfully, being INTOUCH, I can tell you the concept surrounding NEST works, and it relevant to our clientele. This is why my original question requested feedback revolving or inspired by NEST.

I also believe a business's ACTIONS need to revolve around needs- not the business name. It just needs to be memorable, creative, expanding and relevant to the INTEREST of why someone who need a trusted real estate adviser.

    Example:
The beautiful blond with rays of sun in her hair and warm smile will attract you. The quality of facets within her character and personality is what will keep you.

The same with a name. We want to be attractive and have a name that is commensurate to personality and Quality.

    NOTE TO OTHERS:

NEST does not have to stay, but a friendly/cleaver concept does...

Something that touches the 40 year old with 3 kids, and the 25 year old entrepreneur/executive that wants to build her portfolio with a cozy and smart purchase. Something that's sharp and progressive, but has a feel that can warm the hearts of an old curmudgeon.

    ANY THOUGHTS?

    Something CHEERFUL,and Trusting.

    I like it Tinker.

Habitat is a "serious" word but,

Dwell- is hard too, but effective...

It's certainly something to think about.

The thing I forgot to mention-- and this would certainly provide some insight... the name needs to appeal to agents as well.

Since it's really a TEAM or Group not a private brokerage-

SO, it can't contain the word REALTY or REALTORS, and it needs to be something that will be attractive so that other talented, driven agents want to join the team.

I'm tempted to close the question in effort to move over for some others... BUT before I do.

Does anyone have a few last ideas of a marketable TEAM name for a real estate brokerage:

I need something attractive to clients and other agents that want to join a dynamic team.

    ANYONE?
