My term is not very recent either but....

    "Guerilla Marketing".

Why, well first of all, it's exactly what I do, (only I didn't know it had a name until recently...LOL!!).

Also, because for the negative, "sniper" connotation behind it. It oozes with with envy and distcontent from those who spend countless resources marketing stricting by the books!

    I Love it!!!

    Flash Mobbing:
A large group of people who gather in a usually predetermined location, perform some brief action, and then quickly disperse.

If you guys don't mind, I'll nick some of these terms and add them to my glossary (that for some reason I can't get to work right now!)

TARPS always intrigued me - "Target Audience Rating Points" - mainly because by stipulating them in media contracts you could get credits if the media program did not deliver the desired audience numbers.

METADATA is another interesting one. Data about data, what the...?

REALITY TV. More an oxymoron. What, precisely, is the slightest bit real about that?

BUGA-UP. Billboard United Graffiti Artists Against (Unsolicited?) Promotion. Groups of 'artists' that change the whole message on a billboard to their own - for example, turning a cigarette billboard into an anti-smoking message. Used more against gender exploitation these days.
