Adobe Indesign Vs Quark Xpress

Question for those who get involved with the day to day layout - is there a preferred page layout program in use now? Adobe inDesign and Quark Xpress are two I have heard about, but some are saying that Adobe is becoming the go to product and Quark being left behind. What do you think?

    Dear Peter,

    I use Quark and have done for over 12 years. It's got better, but it's still a little frustrating.

    A good friend has recently switched from Quark to InDesign and loves it, and yes, Adobe is the bigger player: here, integration with other Adobe produces is driving the switch and I may change over to InDesign within the next year or so.

    If you are starting from scratch, go for InDesign, which you can get with other Adobe products as one big bundle, thereby saving money and reducing your learning and integration timeline.
